Rocky outcrop above Coalville

I went out with Andy on friday, to try and get some new pictures for the first time in weeks, and was a little dispirited at the time, as nothing seemed inspiring, and I wandered around wondering what the hell I was doing, and if I actually cared about taking pictures any more. Thankfully, when I got home, I was pleased with enough of what I’d taken to be somewhat heartened again, so I won’t be throwing away the camera just yet :)

Technical info: ISO 100, f/13, 12mm, tripod, polarising filter, 3 shot HDR processed in photomatix pro

I absolutely love this site and check daily for new stuff, so dont dare throw the camera away. Unless you wanna chuck that 10-20mm Sigma in this direction :-)

    Hey Dan,
Much chance of mentioning which lense and setting some of these shots are done with.
Tossing up weather to go with the Sigma 17-70 lense of yours and would love to see shots here you have taken with it.

    Hi Adam

Of course. This was my sigma 10-20 - although it also had a circular polarising filter on it, and it’s a HDR, so it’s not a hugely accurate idea of the kind of image you’d get from a particular lens :)

For what it’s worth, I recently bought the sigma 18-200, and have lent my 17-70 to a friend, as I find the 18-200 so splendidly flexible.
