Queens Park in Spring

The park in Loughborough can look really nice at this time of year. I was there today with lots of family from Canada, and sneaked off to take this HDR - it’s under the same trees as this shot taken in the autumn. I liked the lush green boughs and the shapes created by the trees and path. Far from a perfect pic - the movement of the leaves has created quite a few artefacts, but worth an upload I think.

Techical details: iso 100, f/11, handheld 3 shot HDR processed in photomatix pro

Morning Dan, Very good, you’ve definitely cracked the job, all the range with non of the weird contrast and colour and only three exposures.
On a different tack, do you know why such a fuss is made over white balance? All the photo books make a big song and dance over it but if you shoot in RAW then it’s a milliseconds job to correct. Far quicker than grey cards balancing from ones hand etc. State of my hands probably not a good idea anyway, All the best Adrian.

    Hi Adrian

I’m not a big expert on it really.. I suspect that a big deal is made of it because it’s important to get right, and most people still shoot JPG. I think I tend to leave mine on AWB and then just eye dropper it in the raw processing software.

Coincidentally I’m not 100% happy with the colour of this shot - I may tweak and reupload when I have some more time. I’ve already done that once but think I may have desaturated a little too much - it has a slightly metallic look to it I think.

    Cheers!
    Dan

Still better than this which is probably a little too saturated, not to mention the mess the clouds are in-bit blowy Saturday. I’m not a big fan of auto anything, so tend to leave mine on cloudy then either eye drop or select shade or WHY till things look OK or at least better, all the best Adrian
