Hedegerow above Wymeswold, Leicestershire

I’m really enjoying exploring the footpaths around my new home - it’s very close to where I grew up (Barrow upon Soar, 5 miles away) but up in the “wolds” (a sort of slightly hilly area) so has a different feel to it. This is a lovely time of year for colours, as you can see. I went out on my mountain bike, took this, and was back in 20 minutes. Hooray for moving house :)

Technical details: f/6.3, iso 200, 1/160s, handheld, graduated ND filter used (although I could probably have got away without it, as the light was just right)

  1. I’ve just decided to look around here, and I am speechless! I didn’t know photography had so much depth to it. Seems pretty complicated stuff, but I’m content leaving it to folks like you. I really dig all this stuff you uploaded here. Your shots make me want to live a nice quaint life in a beautiful area like that. By the way, you know me as that ‘The Madlad’ from your nice site. Thanks for sharing, I’ll be frequenting this site.

Hi Dan…I am new to your feed but hugely impressed. I found the HDR tutorial and commentary extremely interesting and helpful. I buy into your philosophy of KISS…(keep it subtle stupid!) and feel HDR is amazing when done properly and in the right situation. PS..Huge thanks for the 15% discount code..much appreciated. (Ingleman from flickr) Andy in the real world!

Heh - thanks Andy. They (hdrsoft) are very generous with their discount codes. I think it’s helped generate them a lot of goodwill.
